Terms of Use

Last updated: 15 May 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Wanderpedia mobile application and related services (together, "Wanderpedia"), provided by Nauset Views ("we," "us"). By installing or using Wanderpedia, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. What Wanderpedia does

Wanderpedia uses your device's location to find Wikipedia articles about places near you and plays AI-generated audio summaries of those articles. Audio is generated by automated text-to-speech systems applied to summaries produced by large language models. Narrations may contain errors, omissions, or interpretive choices that differ from the source. For the canonical text of any article, refer to wikipedia.org.

2. Driving safety

Wanderpedia is designed for passive listening while driving, in the same way you might listen to a podcast. Do not interact with your phone while operating a vehicle. Use lock-screen controls, steering-wheel controls, or voice commands. Pull over before adjusting settings, reading the screen, or typing. You are solely responsible for operating your vehicle safely and complying with applicable laws, including any restrictions on phone use while driving.

3. Subscriptions and free trial

Wanderpedia is offered as an auto-renewing subscription, available in monthly and yearly plans. A 7-day free trial is included with each plan for users who have not previously redeemed a trial on the same Apple ID.

4. Your account and content

Wanderpedia does not require you to create an account. Local data — such as your reaction history and pinned interests — is stored on your device and used to personalize which articles are chosen for you. You can clear this data at any time by uninstalling the app.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

6. Wikipedia content and licensing

Wanderpedia narrations are derivative summaries of articles published on Wikipedia by its contributors. Wikipedia article text is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 License. Attribution and licensing information is shown within the app and on the corresponding Wikipedia article pages. Trademarks and images that appear in Wikipedia articles remain the property of their respective owners.

7. Intellectual property

The Wanderpedia app, name, logo, and original audio narrations are owned by Nauset Views. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable, non-exclusive license to install and use the app for your personal, non-commercial use.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

Wanderpedia is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that narrations will be factually correct.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Nauset Views or its affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of Wanderpedia. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) US$50.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material we'll post a prominent notice in the app and update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Termination

You can stop using Wanderpedia at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms. Sections 5–11 survive termination.

12. Apple App Store

These Terms are between you and Nauset Views, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Wanderpedia. In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app to you. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, unless another forum is required by applicable consumer-protection law.
